Austin Improv

The Institution Theater will be staging a revival of "MANSON: The Musical" on Friday and Saturday evenings in May. This happy go lucky musical was originally conceived and directed by Tom Booker and Laura Hall at The Annoyance Theater in Chicago. The music was written by Laura Hall.

Auditions will be on Sunday, March 25th. Ten minute slots are available between the hours of 3 pm and 5:30 pm. Auditions are open to both singers and non-singers. Although you will be required to perform a song and read from some sides provided. (If you don't have a prepared song, just show up and sing "Happy Birthday." It will be fine.) Auditions are taking place at Studio 1308 which is located at 1308 E. 7th St. (4 blocks east if I-35 on the northwest corner of 7th Street and Navasota Street - right across the street from the State of Texas Cemetery) Bring a resumé. Headshots are not necessary.

The run of shows will take place on Friday and Saturday evenings in May at 8pm at The Institution Theater. Rehearsal schedule are TBA. Director is Tom Booker.

Mason The Musical Character Breakdown

Charlie Manson – a cute and loveable megalomaniac that is hell bent on starting a race war so that he can take over the world.

Tex Watkins – A scraggily looking young hippie. This character was originally played as a character from a Noel Coward play, but feel free to make it your own.
