My Other Obsession

This may not be a popular sentiment round these parts but i loves me some football and UT is going to play for the National Championship on Jan 4. Since nobody up here in Chicago really gives a shit, I wanted to say something where somebody might care.
YES!
finally

I'm normally not a trophy-displaying type of guy, but this seems appropriate and in an attempt to share in their victories and put myself back on the fantasy path of successful collegiate athlete, i display it to somehow share in their glory. I won this in 2003 at Missouri.
me so happy.

Since the title of this thread is so appropriately named, I'd love to see what everyone else's other (non-improv) obsessions are! List 'em!
My other obsession is music. It's admittedly pretty sick. I have thousands of LPs, 45s, CDs, cassettes, etc. and yet I think there is still so much to find and listen to. With the advent of mp3s and filesharing in the last 7/8 years, I also have a massive digitial library that's probably somewhere in the range of 350 gigabytes. The worst part of this afflication is that I have developed this encyclopedic knowledge of relatively trivial music-related information. I have a hard time remembering what to get at HEB and yet I could rattle off the discography of more than a few record labels, the studio where something was recorded, and things far less interesting.
I also play music (guitar, bass, keyboard, glockenspiel, etc.) but I'm not quite as obsessed with that.

Making things. I make a lot of my own clothes, I knit, I crochet, I sew. I like to make polyhedra origami. I like to make lamps out of records. I want very much to take a welding class. I have been described as the love child of Martha Stewart and MacGuyver.

Oh! And ice cream.

I love music, but don't have nearly enough CDs (275+, but there's no such thing as enough). I play guitar, but not very well. I love to read, especially noir-type books. Actually, I'm probably bordering on obsessed with noir. I spend a little time working on websites for a couple authors, too.
I need more hobbies, and more hours in the day.

Hmmm, I guess I obsess over writing, though I've not had a lot of time for it the past year or so. But hell, now that I'm single and not taking a class next semester, I plan on writing a lot more and trying to get back into the swing of things over the next few months. I've spent the past 5+ years or so creating my own fantasy world to write in, now all I need to do is find the time, motivation, and talent to write in it. At least whatever parts that rich, skilled, published hack hasn't stolen from me. *grumble grumble*
I also have an on-again off-again obsession with chance. I collect dice and during certain points in my life I go through obsessive buying phases where I'll buy dozens of different types of dice. I get fascinated by concepts like randomness and chaos and trying to find ways to see patterns in them in order to cheat them.
I also obsess over swords. I am convinced that I was meant to live and die by one, but I was born a few hundred years too late for that. *sigh* I have a small, but decent and growing collection.

Have you read the play
Arcadia, by Tom Stoppard? It's all about chaos theory in life and art. A fascinating read if anything.

I guess I'll speak up...heh
I thoroughly enjoy painting and drawing. I've been creating visual art for longer than I can remember and just can't seem to stop. I'm especially interested in religious/mythology-based art at the moment.
I am also a big fan of comic books and trade paperbacks of all sorts, though my favorites would be in the Batman universe. Similarly, I love the 1960s Batman TV series...and similar to that the western Bonanza.
I'm currently a theatre major and have a certain affinity towards experimental theatre and shakespeare. I'm obsessed with the ideas of the corruption of the 1900s gothic family and the more current nuclear family.
Sometimes I can see traces of those themes in all the different forms of art I enjoy. Most exciting.

My obsessions are many and varied, and usually interfere with one another. I'm currently obsessed with playing the ukulele and the concertina. Or that is, learning to play them. I've played the concertina for like 4 years now, and I'm still not terribly accomplished at it. I mainly play Irish music on it. I've played the ukulele for about a year now, and tend to focus on novelty music and jazz.
My radio show was my obsession for a while, but I've resisted the urge to revive it, because I'm desperately trying to focus my energy. I occassionally obsess over writing. I wrote
a novel for Nanowrimo last year, but haven't done much with it beyond a first pass of editing. Around April every year, I get obsessed with making sure that
No Pants Day is going to be a success. And finally, I obsess over my weight. all the time.
the end.

Obsessions.
1) Anemotion (sp?) anyone?
2) coffee and smokes
3) creative ideas, writing
Actually, I don't obsess much over anything. I'm trying to be really passionate about improv and sketch. I want to read more and watch more movies.
I guess I'm going to become obsessed with why I am not obsessed. Or is that just neurotic?

I like having dinner parties.
Playing basketball/frisbee. Running in general.
I'm in the thick of three scripts that are 90, 40, and 15% completed.
I also like to record rap music.
Also, some other different things.
This thread has absolutely nothing to do with UT and football. Are we denying beardedlamb?

1. I'm obsessed with watching college football. I'll watch Appalachian St vs Chattanooga if i have to. This season has been pretty exciting so far. It's good to see the local boys doing so well. Hopefully the Rose Bowl will live up to expectations. HOOK 'EM!!
2. Reanimating Richard Nixon
