scene workshop with Tom Booker

Post by the_orf »

I've been outside of the main performance circuit lately, and consequently I am a bit rusty at my improvisational scene work. I need to woodshed some scene work with some other fine folks, while a watchful eye calls out the rookie mistakes I'm making just because I'm so out of practice.

Thankfully, Tom Booker has generously agreed to direct a two-hour workshop focused on doing good improv scenework. Nothing fancy, just doing a nice, solid, 10-minute-long, two-person or maybe three-person scene with character, story arc, all that good stuff. If you feel like you want some work on this along with me, under the veteran, watchful, beautiful hazel eyes of Tom Booker, then drop me a line.

There are only five spaces available in the workshop. It will take place either this Wednesday night (Feb 1) or next Wednesday night (Feb 8), or possibly both if all goes well. Or maybe on Saturday afternoon, Feb 4 or Feb 11, if that's what works out best. The cost is $15 per person.

If you're interested in a spot, email me directly at the_orf AT Yahooooo dot com. (Don't forget the underscore in the_orf.) If I don't already know you, please introduce yourself and tell me something about your improv history. Be sure to let me know your availability (yes or no) for the four dates mentioned above: Feb 1/Feb 8 (Wednesday nights), Feb 4/Feb 11(Saturday afternoons).

I have no idea what kind of demand this post will generate, so I make no promises on whether emailing me will land you a spot or not. But I'll try to make sure I write you back to let you know either way.

Stay festive,
Orf
