The Greatest Show on Turf run down
Posted: July 18th, 2006, 2:51 pm
Ok...here is the latest rundown on TGSOT:
1. Probably 1 game per week unless the demand is for 2
2. Fake commercials, short films, and troupe/show marketing during actual commercial breaks (see more details below)
3. Halftime (12-15 minute longform or other option)
4. Fantasy Football tournament (see below)
5. Wings from local eatery and beer
other undeveloped ideas:
1. Free Football 101 and Improv 101 classes offered before/during game for those who want to know more
2. Experimental improv shows running upstairs for those not interested in game
Explanation of above stuff that said "see below":
Commercial breaks - This is an all call for your commercial break submissions. They must be no more than 3 minutes in length and the content is up to you (market your troupe, show, yourself, do a short film, a fake commercial) just as long as they are entertaining. I need them on DVD, in my hand no later than Friday, September 1st. I will likely accept more ofthem after that date, but I MUST have submissions available for a tech rehearsal on Sunday, September 3rd.
Fantasy Football Tournament - for those who don't know, Fantasy Football is a fantasy game played with actual statistics and a computer. You draft players for your team based on a salary cap, and those players earn or lose points for you each week based on their real life statistical achievements. For example, if Vince Young throws for 2 touchdowns and rushes for 78 yards, he would earn points in those statistical categories. If he also threw an interception, he would lose points for that. The one with the most points in the end wins. Simple right??? Alot of people play in fantasy leagues. You get to have a team name and it gives you more reason to watch the games and root for players. It can be alot of fun even if you don't like football (trash talking, etc.) Some leagues are head to head comptition and some are merely point totals. I am looking for the best "no charge" league. If you want to join this league, I need your email address. I will email you an invite to be in the league. Get it to me so I can create the league rosters and you can make your team. It is my hope that we can round up audience members between now and then and give them more incentive to come to the games.
Finally, I have been working on some graphics. I will post those when I have something decent to look at.
THX and PM me those email addresses!
