I think they get it but they made a mistake by not playing it straight. If the guy had committed it would be a totally different beast. I've seen a bunch of these and it's intriguing that it came down to improvisers to try to play it tongue-in-cheek.

He's trying to have his cake and eat it too by winking at us.

(wouldn't hurt to have an ensemble either)

i think it would've worked better if it had been shit improvisors say OUTSIDE of shows and classes. but i've only found one of these videos funny so far, so i'm clearly not the audience. this pulls it off much better:

I'm inclined to agree with Jill about whether or not the makers of this get it. This basically the equivalent of a "Shit Waiters Say" video that's comprised solely of things like "Can I wrap that up for you?" and "May I refill your water?"

Jordan's on the right track as far as what would actually give a video like this a chance of working.

I got a good one. I'm going to ask the audience "What's something that blows your mind?" Huh, huh? What do you think? Pretty good right?

Their suggestion was weedwhacker but they didn't have one weedwhacker scene. What the fuck?
