AUDITION NOTICE for RACKET - Rhythm-based improv with off beat accompaniment!
Directed by Sarah Marie Curry (Girls Girls Girls, Improv for Evil)
WHAT: Racket is a long form montage show that will create scenes and songs based on non-musical instrument rhythm and noise.
"A man walks into an alley, picks up a tin can and starts hitting it to a wall. He makes a beat. Others join in. The sound is a cacophony of joyful noise... and we all wait to see what happens next!"
Inspired from the broadway show Stomp, Racket will be a grand adventure into the world of found objects, heightened emotions and abstract scene work.
WHO: We are casting eight people of all types, ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. A sense of rhythm, play, object work and odd behavior is encouraged. All are welcome to audition!
WHEN and WHERE: Auditions will be in 30-minute sections 7-10ish on Monday, January 9th at Studio 1308. Please wear closed toed shoes and clothes you can move in.
You are required to email ahead to sign up for a time slot and there are a limited number of time slots available. Include your name, phone number, and let us know any availability conflicts for the evening. Email Sarah Marie ( androidlady AT gmail ) to sign up or to ask any questions you might have.
