Improv Contacts and Classes on Long Island?

Howdy!
I have a couple of great friends how live on Long Island. (He said, "say around Huntington, NY or just Long Island.") After hearing me rave for six months they are interested in taking some classes and they asked me to check with the awesome Austin improv community to see who has improv contacts up there. They do not want to go into the city.
Who knows folks up there?

Tell them to wait 4 1/2 years and I'll teach a workshop during my 20th...
I don't know of any improv on LI, sadly. That place is a dead zone for culture. Except Huntington used to have a cool arthouse movie theater.

The only schools I know of teaching comedy were in Mineola years ago- one comedy club was teaching standup. It's not improv, true, but it was a school for comedy. I'm not even sure the club is still there.
I agree with Kareem, LI is a vacuum for comedy and/or anything cultural

You should ask over on
http://www.improvresourcecenter.com/ - the New York message board. I have heard of some things but don't know a lot about them.

If you find anything out, let me know. I grew up there, and as of about 6 years ago, there was nothing of the sort, afaik.

Hmm. Quick Google search reveals this:

Seems to be short-form, possibly Theatresports.
This, too:

And Newsday, the bastion of news for those with a 6th grade reading level, did a small piece on the LI scene last year:

Jillybee reposted my Facebook inquiry on the same subject and gave my friends a contact there. Oddly...they already had a mutual friend from college and knew OF each other. The world is small.
They just signed up for classes at Long Island Improv. I know these two really well. They're going to be awesome. I hope we get to play together sometime.
Thanks everyone!
