free Hakomi session

There is a discipline that falls under the general realm of counseling known as Hakomi that my wife Elana has been studying. She is in need of two guinea pigs--I mean, practice subjects sometime in the next week or two.

Hakomi is a very cool means of helping people figure out their own internal issues regarding whatever it is they have issues about. It's often referred to as "body-centered therapy" because the point is to make you be aware of your own body (uneasy stomach, tensed shoulders, shallower breathing, etc) that gives you clues about some feelings you might not be fully acknowledging to yourself. (As a bonus, this sounds like some good skills to have for improv character work, no?)

Anyway, Elana has been studying it for a while, and she needs to work with a couple of strangers. She can't call it "counseling" or "therapy" because she's not a registered practitioner. Think of it more as an enlightening discussion with somebody who might make you feel a little more empowered, maybe. If anybody would like a free Hakomi session, she's offering. Please PM me and I'll introduce you to her.

A session typically lasts about 45-50 minutes. They would most likely be held at a house in south Austin, but not necessarily so.

Thanks to any of you who helps out, and in doing so, helps yourself a little bit in the process.
