Hey AIC,
The other day, an intern at a theater I frequent asked me, "Do we let in other improvisers from other theaters in for free?"
I know that this has historically been true, but given that the scene is growing exponentially now by the day, does your theater still have a "Improvisers get in free" policy as long as the show is not sold out?

Yes, this is the gray area.
Once you are a performing improviser, you can get into Hideout shows for free, if it is not sold out.
For better or for worse, this is increasingly not a concern. Our Saturday shows have been selling out online for a while.

You work your life away and what do they give?
You're only killing yourself to live
Currently at The Institution Theater just our current students can get in to shows for free. And even that depends. For example, at our Teen Angst Tuesdays at The Highball, ticket prices are established by and paid to The Highball and so everybody pays to get in.
Almost all of our shows are only $5 and we are trying to (literally) build a theatre so hopefully people are OK with paying that.
