Personality Types
So, in the past year or so I've become more aware of Personality Type tests and labels (in particular the Enneagram and the Myers-Brigg). I've discovered that I am a 7 and an INTJ, according to these frameworks.
Of course, one of my mantras for life is the map is not the territory (very similar to the finger pointing to the moon is not the moon thing that's been discussed here) and these tests can only provide so much and are a specific way of viewing things, but I've learned a bit about myself from using theses lenses.
I'm curious if others have taken such tests and what they've come out to be and if anyone has any opinions on them or if it's been helpful to use these frameworks.
If you have no clue what I'm talking about, heres some places to take the tests (for free) and learn more:
Enneagram
Myers-Briggs
If there are better (free) tests out there you know of please post.

Patrick,
I'm also an INTJ and have been studying it for years. Here's a link to my results:

I'm happy to talk all about applications of this stuff in real life sometime.

Every Myer Briggs test I take seems to place me as an ISTP or INTJ.

I used to be ENTP, now I'm ENFJ. The iNtuitive is always really strong, the Extrovert used to be just barely, but now seems fairly well expressed, though the Judging just barely wins out over Perceiving. I guess the switch from Thinking to Feeling is most reflective of my change in personality over the past ten years or so.
Though as I read through the descriptions, I still feel like ENTP resonates with who I am more.

I've registered as ENFP the last couple of times I've taken the test. I feel like it's pretty accurate in how it describes both my strengths and my weaknesses.
I think these sort of tests are fun, because they give you a little bit more self-awareness of your flaws and appreciation for your strengths. It's sort of affirming to read a statement allegedly about my type and feel it resonate as true. It's strangely comforting to have a computer screen tell you that the things you think about yourself are not purely delusional. I also believe that these things are fluid and will likely change at some point as we adapt to new experiences and perceive the world differently.
I think it's tricky and dangerous, though, when people start investing themselves in these tests to the extent that they second guess their choices, interactions, or relationships. At the end of the day, people are far more complex than a personality diagnosis.

ENFP
Haven't tested in a while, but I've always tested as an ENFP in the past.

ENFJ
Howdy,
I have been an ENFJ for about 17 years. I have used MB, along with our management team to help us all better understand what motivates and works best with each other.
For instance, I have coworkers that 'fear' communicating in public or with multiple people via email. Once identified, we work together to find solutions for all.

Thanks,

I'm an INFJ, although INFJ would probably be more accurate typography.
