the OOB thanks

Post by beardedlamb »

yo,
now that i have emerged form my post-oob hole and day of internet amnesty, i'd like to take a moment to thank everyone involved with the festival.

its impossible for me to name everyone who helped in big and small ways but i gotta give mad ups to the staff, who made this one of the least stressful years production-wise of them all. tech people pulled 14-hour days, producers slaved away on spreadsheets all night despite being dead tired, people endlessly offered to help with airport rides in what i imagine from space looked like a line of ants carrying visitors to and from the mound, people flyered and postered in the heat, people cold called requesting press coverage, people cleaned up house parties when they should have been in bed, people went without proper amounts of sleep to get workshops going, and people talked up the fest relentlessly to help build audiences. people did things to help out that i don't even know about!

i am extremely grateful and every year i think it's going to blow up and it never does. i am annually amazed by this community's resilience and determination.

i am eternally grateful.

And thank you! It was my first year attending or being involved with the festival and it was a fantastic experience!
