Dear Artists and Arts Organizations,
Last year, the City of Austin produced A.N.Y (Austin’s New Year 2011), a free, family-friendly, downtown, non-alcohol New Year’s Eve event. To ensure that Austin’s vibrant arts and culture were a part of the festivities, we put a call out to the Austin Creative Community for participation. With the help from you, our creative community, we were able to present a dynamic and diverse group of performers that brought 10,000+ Austinites together to celebrate the incoming year with Art, Music and Film.
The City of Austin extends an invitation to you again to submit proposals for activities; this time for Austin’s New Year 2012 (December 31, 2011). We are looking for creative family-friendly musical and artistic performances, creative activities, and visual art installations.
If you are interested in submitting a proposal to the City, please see PROJECT and SUBMISSION details below. We are looking for a one-page description of the project that you or your arts organization would like to present. Be sure to address what will be happening; what visual and musical elements or performances you will produce, the number of project participants, technical requirements, and how your work will engage the community of Austin. Along with your narrative, please provide a detailed budget for the project, with a maximum request of no more than $5,000. Proposed activities that can be presented without financial assistance are also welcome.
