Martin de Maat was one of the greatest teachers ever in improvisation. He had genuine compassion for every single one of his students and would not let them have a moment of getting down on himself.

In fact, his most popular quote was: "You do not have the right to use this art form to feel inferior."

This is an interview with someone who I considered an idol and a good friend. Every once in a while I'm reminded of him and I dearly miss him.

I read that earlier tonight. It's so great!

He does a great job of expressing the value and transcendence of improv. So lovely.
