Text Enhance

Post by York99 »

Does anyone know what's going on with Text Enhance? All over every web page I visit there are some words that are green with a double underline. If I mouse over them there is a pop-up that says Text Enhance and an accompanying ad, often for Groupon.

Does anyone know how to get rid of this pain in the ass feature?

Mac or PC, and what browser are you using? Knowing that I could give more specific instructions.

Generally speaking, though, you probably will find in a browser dropdown menu something called "Tools" or "Ads-ons". Open that up find Text Enhance and disable.

It's possible it came as a separate software package with some update. If this is true use you can remove it using Add/Remove programs (with a PC), or just by searching for and then junking it (on a Mac).

I think I finally got to opt out of it. Man, that's annoying. If this happens to anyone else, you have to click on it and then click the box and type the letters to opt out.

I don't think it's an add on.

I did a little research and it sounds by something made by a company called Vibrant. It's a legit (if annoying) product - not a bug of any sort.

Does this look familiar?

Also, here is a forum thread dedicated to removing this.

Yeah, that's what it was. I never opted into it and this freaks people like me out.

I still want to murder the person who designed it... and his or her whole family.

Thanks for your help.
