Imagine a Way Home Benefit

Post by Jon Bolden »

Hey guys,

An old client of mine operates a non-profit called Imagine a Way Home, providing benefits & awareness for Autism. I have never attended an event or done anythign for them, really, so I really don't know what to expect...but... she is very professional, connected, and easy going. She had asked me if I could spread the word about a volunteering opportunity for artists & performers. If you are interested, contact me and I'll hook you up with their info.

Here's what she sent to me:
In September (16-17) IAW will be the beneficiary for an art show hosted by Interior Design Gallery showcasing local artists.

This annual art show features local artists and invites the public to view and purchase their art while benefiting a local charity . There will be a VIP event Friday evening, September 16, and then the art show and activities open to the public on Saturday, September 17. There will be a huge tent set up for the show, and activities to encourage families to participate. The event will be held in the parking lot area between Interior Design Gallery and Bassett Furniture on Burnet at Anderson Lane.

I know you have some connections in the art community - not sure if they are a fit for this event but wanted to mention the event to you with some of my ideas:

- if you know of any local artists who would be interested in displaying their work, we're still accepting artists
- I wondered if you knew of any mimes who might be interested in working the event either Friday night or Saturday
- Does your acting group, or another you know of, do interactive entertainment at these type of events? I was thinking of an area where families/kids could walk by and see little skits, routines

We will have a silent auction fundraiser Friday night at the VIP event. We are asking for any donations for the auction - and if you would be interested in donating any of your photography sessions/services - the money raised will go directly to Imagine A Way to fund therapies for children
