When a cast of jocks, dweebs, pretty girls, and too-cool-for-school kids all end up stuck in summer school detention together, they are forced to learn life lessons and the meaning of relationships by their instructor: John Hughes himself. In this next line of TEEN ANGST TUESDAYS, John Hughes Summer School, Mr. Hughes challenges the students–and the audience–with a mashup of scenes from Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Weird Science, Some Kind of Wonderful, The Breakfast Club and more. Performed live and dripping with the over-wrought emotion of that time you got dumped by your middle-school love that you were totally going to get married to.
