Austin Improv

The time has come at last to for my experiment in epic storytelling which I will be co-directing with Marc Majcher. The idea of the show is this:

A female protagonist is suddenly whisked to a strange world that has its own rules, bizarre creatures and seemingly no way out. This show will be heavily influenced by Lewis Carroll, Hayao Miyazaki, and L. Frank Baum among others.

We are looking for performers with a strong sense of physicality, who make stylistic choices and are comfortable in playing in the abstract.

Auditions will take place at The Hideout Theater on Tuesday, June 14th from 7-10pm. Dress in comfortable clothing and closed-toed shoes.

Feel free to mention any movement-based experience (dance, mime, etc.) as well as any pertinent theater experience (Shakespearean training or the like).

will auditioners be required to be there the entire time, or will it be a rotating process?

Will that audition time be the planned rehearsal time from then on as well?

Early Mid or Late July? Worried about a class.

We've made a change to the schedule and now rehearsals will be on Wednesdays, starting first one in July.

Do we have hard dates for performances yet?

Saturdays in September and October starting September 10th.

Well hellfire. I set my dates for EPIC! in hopes of being able to do Spirited but now that rehearsals are on Wed it is the one day I can't possibly make it. First Batman - now this. Ah well. I know it will be awesome and I will cheer you all on from the sidelines! : )

This sounds AMAZING. I don't think I can miss any more Bad Boys rehearsals though. Live Nude rehearsals have/will keep me out for 8 weeks. 8 more weeks is too much. DARN IT ALL.
