I have a question about Austin improv file maintenance.
I ask because one of my sub-goals is to create 5 or 6 "generic" flyers that any troupe can download, open in Paint or Photoshop, type in their own name and time, and then print out and distribute. (I'm going to retool some aspects of the design, but the ones I made up for this First Thursday will become one template with a big blank area in the middle).
Right now, I upload such things to my own personal website and post a link in here; however, it might be better long-term if the community had a central location for such files (in case someone left the community or so you don't have to search through old posts for isolated links). People could also provide other images that may be beneficial in future promotional materials (such as troupe logos).
Could we get a common "graphics" or "images" folder that those in the community can access? We could go ahead and create subfolders for flyers, troupe logos, posters, advertisments, promotional images, etc. In the future we could add more subfolders for the community logo (once one is decided upon), tee shirt designs, etc. I don't think it should become a personal photo storage space, but a resource library for people wanting to build future advertisements and/or merchandise.

Additionally, another thing the community may want to do along the same lines is get show flyers from past shows and build an online museum/archive of shows the community and those within it have put on over the years. Having physical photos going up the stairs is great for people at the theater in person, but it might be nice to have files online as well. (Like "The Stone" flyer that is hanging up--it already exists as a file, why not use that to our advantage, too? Many band sites have archived posters and flyers and they can be cool to flip through.)
Along with this is scanning in newspaper clippings and having a media review gallery.
These not only show off these achievements online, they are a backup in case something should ever happen to the physical pieces (or in case we get so popular that we run out of room on the wall for new physical pictures and have to take the old stuff down). Plus, the Hideout is typically Hideout-centric, and rightfully so, but the community may put on shows in other locations and want that remembered as part of the community's legacy. An online archive would be a great place to do that.
