The truth about voice acting for money

Post by btalbot »

So, there seems to be a lot of interest on this forum for voice acting, and getting paid for it. After over two and a half decades of getting paid to do voice acting, talent direction and coaching, I am putting together a program here in Austin to help people understand that it takes more than just having a good voice to get paid to do voice acting.

Like anything in life, you need to understand what the business is and what you can bring to it if you want to get paid. You have to be awesome at it, if you want to get paid. And, you have to find clients who will pay you. Voice acting is a combination of talent, persistence and practice. If you want to find out more, I'm offering an introductory course to help you figure out if voice acting for money is right for you.

The next intro course is June 18 from 9a to Noon. Check it out at austinacts.com for more information or contact me directly. (Contact info is on the web site.) I'm offering this to help others who truly want to do something with their voice talent. After 25 years, it is still the best gig I've ever had, every time I get to do it.
