Posted: February 21st, 2011, 10:11 am
Wowza Yowza! How exciting! Ever since ColdTowne started having shows 6 nights a week, things are movin' and groovin' up in the theater. Keep up the great work troupes! And hey-since you've been doing such a great job, why don't you submit for the April and May schedule?
Submit by filling out THIS FORM: https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewfor ... c6MA#gid=0
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION is February 27, 2011.
But wait a second ColdTowne Theater, what is it you're looking for in submissions? WOW! What a great question! Well, we're glad you asked, hypothetical person, because have we got an answer for you...
We are primarily looking for submissions from improvisation and sketch troupes. All facets of improvisation including, but not limited to, short form, long form, solo, duo and ensemble based tropes (from all over Austin!) will be considered. Preference is given to troupes who consistently perform well and market their shows. One submission form per show submission. For example, if Midnight Society would like to apply for general shows and a late night show slot, they would submit two separate forms.
We've got show slots that need to be filed Wednesday @ 8:30pm, Thursday at 8:30 & 10pm, and Sunday at 7:30pm. Additionally, we have Thursday Night Month-Long Run AND Late Night Shows available (Friday and Saturday nights at 11:30pm)! Holy Guacamole!
Thursday Night Month Long Runs
We're looking for creative show ideas that will run a month long on Thursdays at 8:30pm (improv) and 10pm (sketch). For our Thursday night improv runs, we are looking for show concepts that go beyond "usual" improv formats. For example, the recent run of Victrola, a "Fully Improvised Comedic Penny Dreadfuls & Thrilling Tales of Humerousness" in the dark (8:30pm). We also have Thursday night month-long for sketch troupes (10pm).
Late Night Shows
We want fun Late Night Shows for available Friday and Saturday nights at 11:30pm. We are open to most concepts, so if you have a creative and unusual idea for a late night show, let us know! The most successful late night shows include audience participation, and well-fun.
Notification
We will notify all submitting troupes via email by March 4, 2011. If your troupe did not get selected for a show slot, please email us-we are more than happy to explain our decisions.
