Anyone going to the Jam tonight? I haven't been in several weeks but plan on making an appearance tonight. Please don't make me be the most experienced improviser there. As much as I would love to teach all the new folks how falling back on fart and dick jokes is a viable alternative to listening, I don't think the community would appreciate it. So, come on out and lets show the new folks how it's done!
Also, afterwards I plan on heading to RockStar Karaoke! It's another live-band karaoke thingy that has much more than just punk and metal so it might appeal to a broader range of you than Karaoke Apocalypse. Check it out...

I plan on coming to the Jam tonight...dunno if I'm in your league as far as experience goes, and I'm kind of rusty, but I'll be there...
As for the Karaoke thing...is there a cover to get in? I'm on a rather tight (read: nonexistent) budget as of right now...

Karaoke is FREE! At least it was last time I went. It's in the Cedar Street courtyard (on 4th next to Fado) and it starts around 9:30.shksprtx wrote: As for the Karaoke thing...is there a cover to get in? I'm on a rather tight (read: nonexistent) budget as of right now...

Also, if you don't mind the limited range (from "ass-kicking" to "KICK ASS!") of Karaoke Apocalypse, they also have a free show coming up this Friday, at 10pm at Woody's South. (Yeah, I had to googlemapit, too.)
I'll be there, and I'll be at jam tonight, too, for the first time in way too long. Come on and represent, yo.
Hip Hip Hooray for all who were out tonight at the Jam!!

-We warmed up for 30 min then played short-form and scenic games the rest of the night.
-We had four audience members!!!
-They laughed and had fun and said they were going to come back!!!
It was HAwesome! And you would-a, could-a, should-a been there.

It was awesome. It was a great mix of people and experience levels, and it was great to see new people up there and kicking ass. Mega-props to Sara, Jason, Eric, Christina, and everyone for the strong direction and keeping things moving and everything. That was one of the most fun three hours of stuff I've done in a while, and I've had some fun-ass three hours recently. Yay, jammers!sara_anm8r wrote: -We held the jam downstairs bc "3-2-1 Kill" (Video Improv group) took over the entire upstairs.

Just for the record:
1) Sean, not Shawn...but I love you all anyway...
2) Rockstar Karaoke was not free. They were charging a $2 cover, and both Eric and I were loathe to pay for what should be free schaudenfreude, so we bailed.
3) I had a freakin' blast, and so did your mom - I mean, my mom, who was amongst the audience/participants...
Next week it is, then!

I miss the jam.
I'm glad it's going great.
That being said, it's pretty awesome to not be able to make it something improv related because I have something else improv related I'm committed too.
I still miss it, though.

PGraph plays every Thursday at 8pm! https://www.hideouttheatre.com/shows/pgraph/
They charged me $3! The bastards! Ann and I rocked the house though. You missed her kick ass rendition of "Tainted Love". I blew out my vocal cords screaming along to "Smells Like Teen Spirit". I even got several high fives while exiting the stage. It all happens again next week and yes, there is a small cover. Let's get more folks out next time.
The jam did kick ass too. I've been missing it too. I'm gonna try to make it out more often.
