misnomers
any funny stories about people (hosts, announcers, media) getting your name or your troupe's name wrong?

I can say categorically that "The Dancy Street D'Orchestra" has never, ever been mispronounced by anyone, anywhere, ever.

One day we'll all look back at this and laugh, just before they light the bonfire beneath the stakes we're tied to.

Your Dad's Friends has often been mistaken for You're Not My Real Dad and Your Terrific Neighbors... Although I don't know why, because those troupes have been around Austin a lot longer than us... (Tongue in cheek) (because we are old Monks and Ray Prewitt's members) (because we happened to use Your) (and they are phenomenal)
Chicken Fried Steak and all that...

If bands count, then:
-I've been in "American Cafe" for which a club in Sacramento took out a 1/4 page newspaper ad introducing us as "American Coffee".
-"Over the Edge" which was routinely promo'd in Orange County as "On the Edge", so much so that we eventually gave in and changed our name.
-Plus, I can't begin to tell you the number of times my name has appeared in print as "Micheal Brockman".
-My favorite, though, was the drunk MC/DJ during a spring break in Lake Havasu who introduced my band "Local Tourist" as "Local Florist". We ran with it and opened our set with the Stones' "Dead Flowers".
