Hi all,
Just to let you know, there is a free improv show happening this Wednesday, December 1st, at 8pm at Southwestern University, just up the interstate in Georgetown, TX. We have around 20 student artists from various mediums performing together at the same time, all improvising. It's really cool. Check out the blurb..
"Improvisation Across Mediums (IAM) is a collaborative work from five different groups of artists who come together in the spirit of improvisation and the spontaneous creation of art, all on one stage, in one night, reacting to one another and simultaneously innovating newer things in their own mediums. It is sponsored by funds from the King Creativity Grant at Southwestern.
Campus improv team Cooper Street, the SU Jazz Band, three visual artists from the painting studio, three contemporary dancers, and three writers are coming together on Wednesday, December 1st to improvise a two-hour production in performance, music, dancing, slam poetry, and the live creation of a large-scale painting, which will be sold in an auction at the end of the event to combine with donations for charity."
For questions or comments, you can get in touch with me, Zac Carr. I have organize this event and it would be an honor to have a few enthusiastic Austinites make the drive up and see something NEW happening in the world of improv.
