improv in recovery

Post by michaelmcgeary »

Hi all. I posted about this subject of improv and recovery on this forum awhile ago and have since hung out some and met Austin imps, saw some good work.! some of you may know that I am one of the guys from the Committee 1967 and with a large group we collectively created Harold. Now tho I am seeking to have some workshops based on old school, Viola Spolin methods and see how they apply in a group, all of whom are in recovery of some kind or other It seems clear that the principles of each some how connect to the other.
the workshop would be private open only to those in recovery . That way anonimity issues are aside and we feel especially safe and willing due to our common bond
It should'nt be just about recovery all the time though What we seek is insight into how these two endeavors complement each other it's obvious intellectually that they ought to..but how, I think will be revealed by just doing it and then talking about what happened
Does this sound fun to anyone? send me a message..let's try to get a group[15+-] up to try it out Huh kids! We could turn that old theatre into a barn!!
