A freak accident has claimed the lives of two Portland ComedySportz improvisers:

This is horribly tragic. I almost hate to bring it up here, it is just so sad.
I can't even begin to imagine how their performer community must feel.
I think we (the Austin Improv Community) should send them flowers and condolences. I'll try to find a way to set it up later today.

I was there the week that they were dealing with the news. It is sad to go to their Facebook pages and see all the posts from their many many many saddened friends.
If you need any help communicating with the Portland folks, particularly Patrick Short who runs Portland CSz, let me know.
Also, the services probably already happened, but maybe we can send money to a charity in their name. I can see if there already exists something like that if you wish.
And yes, as Arthur said, the Portland community is amazingly wonderful and very aptly our sister city.

Yes, I'd definitely like to work with you Asaf to figure out the best way for us to show them our condolences and support.

Maybe we can also do some kind of card or something from all of us at the AIC potluck this weekend? Sure will be one of the few times that we get folks from every corner of the community into one place.

Sure, we should definitely do that, and collect donation money for a charity or their families, or flowers, or whatever you think would work best, Asaf. Do you think you could ask Patrick for more details?

Let me know how to pitch in. We heard about it through the ComedySportz network from Les. It’s very tragic.
