DYStheatre is Mike Ferstenfeld's and Jeff Britt's theatre company, and we're hosting a fundraising event this Tuesday to help offset the big cost of producing Sam Shepard's True West, a show we're putting on in 2011.

We'd love to see you there. It's this Tuesday night (October 12) at 7:30 at United States Art Authority. A dozen theatre companies are each presenting a scene at The DYSfunction, and the scenes are related in some respect to familial dysfunction.

It's a rare opportunity to see a great sampling of local theatre. We're excited about it. And we need it. It really promises to be a sweet and unique night of theatre. There will be a raffle for prizes, and we're proud to say the show will be hosted by the most whimsicalest of Austin singer/songwriters, Southpaw Jones. I hope some of you will come! DYStheatre has lots of fun plans, including Confidence Men with a huge cast of great Austin actors putting on a production of David Mamet's Duck Variations this December. Even just buying a raffle ticket online is an awesome help! Thank you, friends.

I really enjoyed reading True West. Great writing. I'd love to see a live production.
