Put the Michael back in...

Michaelmas.
That's right. There's a holiday named after me, b*tches - and it's today. After all, my namesake defeated Lucifer in battle, so it's only traditional and fair that a natural event (the autumnal equinox - or close, anyway) should be appropriated and renamed.
So eat a goose (or goose someone), wish 'em a happy Michaelmas and enjoy watching their confusion.
Oh, and if anyone sees Gabriel, Uriel, Raphael or any of those other pretentious wannabe sumb*tches, remind that them that Michael is the archangel and they and their little "All Angels" feast can kiss my a**.

My favorite rave of the day.
Also, god, it's nice to troll the forum for a while today after working on some really crappy writing... editing 24 small-print pages of pabulum does not make for the happy.
Go Michael! Smite!

I feel like I did the same thing at work, only with diamonds. Not nearly as glamorous as it sounds, believe me.

When Shana asked for a holiday in class tonight, I referenced Michaelmas, but she punted it off - right in front of The Michael. So we sang about "easter" instead.

Thanks for the suggestion T. It was appreciated.
I found it amusing that The Shana would prefer to sing about Easter.
Oy.
But I really would have liked to find out what y'all's true loves would have given you for M'mas.

well, on the 12th day of Michaelmas, my true love gave to me...
12 hosts a-hosting,
11 armies clashing,
10 choirs proclaiming,
9 shields a-clanging,
8 saints a-bleeding,
7 scrolls unfolding,
6 demons flailing,
5 seraphim!
4 swords aflame,
3 trumpet calls,
2 cherub wings,
and a corporeal host body!

Dude.. Lucifer ended up being pretty significant too. All I'm saying is that in the Divine Comedy, "Inferno" and "Paridiso" are each 33 cantos long.

I concede Lucifer's significance. Even gotta confess to grudging respect - calling Yahweh out took massive brass canapes. Nevertheless, he falls under the
fallen angel category ('cause my namesake kicked some light-bearer butt). It's those little pussies like Gabriel that get under my skin trying to make Michaelmas into the "All Angels Feast" or whatever sh*t they're trying to peddle to the Catholics these days.
Hey Gabe, do us all a favor. Stop waving the horn around and go blow yourself.

Well played, Jordan. Well played. I'll have to meet your obviously well-connected sig one of these days.
