In “Some Like It Improvised,” Parallelogramophonograph dresses up long-form improv in 1940s suits and madcap scenarios reminiscent of the era’s screwball comedies. This Austin, Texas group pulls it off so well, in fact, you’ll leave swearing you can still smell the cigarettes and scotch.

If you like your improv so clean you can eat off it, Minneapolis’ own ComedySportz team can definitely fill that role. Smart, goofy, and rambunctious, ComedySportz TC provides audiences with a show worthy of Bill Cosby’s stamp of approval, if he ever deigned to attend. Its popularity proves a long-held suspicion: Secretly, we all want improv we can watch with our moms.

I am sitting in the Denver Airport now waiting for my connection.

Meanwhile, free Wi-Fi. Thanks, Denver!

See you in Minne, Beeler!

I admit that I did not know this. I guess that's what makes it a secret.

The last time my mother came to an improv show here, we ended up with Jason Vines singing a song about sticking his crooked dick into someone's ass. She loved it.

Mental note: It's been FAR too long since I saw an IFE show.

I have to admit that one of the most recent shows that my mother saw involved Pat Daniels feeling me up. Yet, she continues to return. On the other hand, she also really enjoys comedy sportz.

You can remedy that in approximately four hours.

Confidence Men go on at TCIF in about 3 hours and 40 minutes. I'm excited. First, now, a 10 minute nap. Fun times in Minneapolis have me a little tired.

FYI, that is not my quote, though I did quote it. I should have put it IN quotes. I will change it. It was a bit of plagiarism from that MN article.

However, I do wish my family would enjoy improv more than they do. They don't really like it and wish I would do something more worth while with my time -- like make animated shorts that win Oscars and bring me fortune, glory and fame.
