Hey ATX Improvisors!

My great friend/comedy partner Tina Jackson has decided to produce a Fest in Grand Rapids MI. Website below

Tina improvises with several troupes including Never Pickles appearing at this years OOB with me!

She is booking acts, and workshops. If you are interested all the information is at the website

The simple word from Tina herself....

"I have rented Dog Story Theater (in Grand Rapids, MI) for the weekend of August 20 - 22nd. During those days, I plan to host a mini comedy marathon that will include shows on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights and workshops on Saturday & Sunday afternoons.

I'm opening this improv weekend up to anyone - just to see how much interest we can drum up. With GR being only 3 hours from Chicago, I figure I might get luckier than I originally expected, getting groups to drive up for a night or 2. We'll see. Encourage your friends to apply.

Amy at Dog Story seems to think there is a LOT of interest in workshops, so that may be a great moneymaker for us. If you're interested in teaching a workshop, let me know ASAP so I can get it online. GR is mostly a shortform town, so an Intro To Longform might be a good idea."

I am giving this a bump, and gladly reporting we have been recieving submissions from all over the States.

As soon as I get word on confirmations I will post here. I hope those of you who can make it will do so. I am very pleased with the community and talent level here in Austin.

Thanks to all of you who submited, or passed along information.

The schedule is being finalized and I will post as soon as it is out.

On another note, this festival may become a floating festival!

We were discussing the future of this Big-Little Fest and I thought, "Hey I would love to go perform in (great domestic location without an established festival or scene that would be great to visit)ville." And well now we are seriously contemplating it.

The proposed plan is to find destinations for improvisors to visit, and help create a scene while getting somewhere of interest we might not otherwise visit. The upside for the host institution/group would be improvisors from all over creating a weekend of merriment and providing workshops to spread the seed of improv.

So if you know of any groups or theatres with no scene or a very burgeoning scene that might be interested in hosting let us know.
