Improvisers who study UCB style 'game' improv sometimes get stuck in their scenes, asking, "what is the funny thing?" Well, stop looking- You are what's funny. In this workshop we'll focus on applying UCB 'game' to behavioral comedy- how to recognize, heighten and have fun with your partner's emotional choices (and yours). We'll also explore the value of justification in creating- rather than just legitimizing- patterns of behavior and comedy, and examine the crucial value of situation and location in heightening game.
RLM, Sunday June 20, 12-3 pm for $15-20
If you want to take this workshop, please send me a facebook message to reserve your spot! (Will Storie)
about the teacher: I've studied at the Upright Citizens' Brigade Theatre in New York for four and a half years. I'm a veteran of Harold Night at the UCBT and currently a full-time improv coach in New York. Previous teachers include Matt Besser, Ian Roberts, Peter Gwinn, Anthony King, Chris Gethard, Michael Delaney and several more. I've appeared on the Colbert Report and in videos for College Humor, Improv Everywhere and Landline TV. Later this summer I'm appearing in a national Target commercial campaign (affiliated with MTV/Comedy Central), and beginning a season as a writer/performer for renegade national talk show, The Edge with Jake Sasseville.
Hope you can make it! Excited to hear from you!
