CageMatch Tourney

Post by shando »

People will know soon who exactly is playing, but we only have one more slot available for the CageMatch tourney. First come first served at this point.

Okay, it looks like we're full. That was fast. This is dependent of course on everyone's willingness to play.

I thought you could only play in the Cage Match tourney if you didn't get accepted to the festival. But if we don't know who's been accepted to the festival yet, how have 8 teams already signed up for the Cage Match?
Did I misunderstand the procedure?

Sorry for the confusion. The lineup has been decided (just finalized today over lunch with Jeremy) and so becuase of that I know who we'll be asking to play the tournament, and that number combined with the number of ad hoc troupes that have approached me to play (see this post: http://forum.austinimprov.com/viewtopic ... ight=#6805) now equals 8 as of this morning.

We'll be notifying people this week as to whether they are in the festival.

Also, let me clarify. Some of this # of 8 are local troupes who submitted and for whom we unfortunately couldn't find a slot given all the awesome submissions we got from outside of the city. These troupes of course have the right to say "Fuck you Shannon and Jeremy, we don't want to play in your tourney." If that happens there would still be a few slots remaining. But if all who submitted combined with other groups who didn't submit but who have apporached me are in, then we are at exactly 8.

You may not, however, say "Fuck you, Mike" as I have little or no say over who plays in the tourney at all.

Carry on.
"Oh, shit. We're being pulled over."
"Is it us?"
"No, it's someone else, and he's pulling us over to tell us who it is, like a courtesy"
