Drop in rehearsals with Gnap!, feedback?

Hey guys,

Gnap! is seriously considering opening up a series of Wednesday night rehearsals to the entire improv community as a drop in session. These rehearsals will explore a variety of topics--Viewpoints, Contact Improv, clowning, etc. in addition to more standard improv fare. These sessions would be led by various Gnap! company members.

I just wanted to sound out the community as to your interest in this series. Would you be interested in attending these kinds of drop-ins? And does $10 for a two hour session sound like a fair drop-in price to you?

Let us know and if the interest is high enough we'll post a schedule of sessions in the next month or so.

I would also be interested in drop-in classes. Is this something that is going on normally and you are just allowing extra people to drop in?

We've done some rehearsals in the past, but we're moving towards a more regular schedule and decided to open it up to the community. More info soon...

All right!

These babies are on. The schedule is still firming up, but we're happy to announce our first one, Improv Scoring with Sara Farr. Sara will be leading a class next Wednesday at SVT from 7 to 9. Here's what she'll be covering Improvising with music: finding the emotion beat in the scene; letting music affect & change you. Supporting scenes with music: finding the emotional beat; making music offers.

Improvisers will take turns doing scene work and supporting said scene work via music under the guidance of Austin's most decorated tech improviser.

To see a fuller description of Sara and the class, and to RSVP, please go here:

Please note that there is a $10 drop in fee for this class, but we're not collecting it through the registration site--pesky fees. This is open to anyone and everyone in the community. If you're scoring an upcoming show or might be, this will be perfect for you.

We'll soon unveil a more complete docket of drop-in rehearsals/workshops for June.
