Johnstone Maestro

Hey all you cool kids,
We are not posting a list for Maestro on January 16th because it will be a special Keith Johnstone Maestro (or probably Micetro.)
The cast will be made up of people who are in the 4 day workshop and Andy will pick them. Andy and Keith will co-direct. The show will be at the Long Center.
This is a pretty amazing opportunity, even if you can't play, you should strongly consider coming out to watch the guy who pioneered this type of improv and created the entire format. Should be pretty fascinating.

We'll resume with our regular casting for the January 23 show.

Andy will hopefully resort to group consensus and some kid of random lot drawing to cast this Maestro. "Picking" sounds tyrannical.

Out of curiosity, how many people are in the four-day workshop?

We have 25 in the 4 day workshop. Obviously, not everyone will get to play, so we'll have to have some fantastic fun way of selecting that. The others will get to watch instead.

Andy, you really must learn to eschew democracy and bask in godlike powers when they are thrust upon you.
Let the world tremble...

It's a FOUR DAY workshop, for Keith's sake! Can't you all take an hour or two at the end of it to do a play-in Micetro tourney, prior to the Long Center show? If you're going to commit to the format, go all the way!

Oh man, this show was pretty fantastic. Had a great Maestro arc, and everyone was on fire.
Troy's solo scene towards the end was an amazing experience. I've never been so happy to hear an audience, as one breathing organism, clap and cheer to give a solo scene a 1. Nor have I seen someone so happy to get a 1.
Delightful, all of it.

Why do I like being an improv musician? Because I get just about the best seat in the house at shows like this.
Much fun.
