{ONLINE VOTE} Austin, help...

Support Austin Improv by voting for a local team. It takes thirty seconds.

I'm the de facto coach of an improv team from Southwestern University called Cooper Street. We made the short trip to Austin recently and competed in the Southwest Regional College Improv Tournament at the Salvage Vanguard Theatre and made Second Place!

Now we are in an online-voting war with other second place teams in other regions of the United States, and the winner with the most votes gets to go to Chicago to compete in the national tournament. We want desperately to attend this event.

You, the people of improv, can help us. We need you. It takes thirty seconds to vote, just go to the Chicago Improv Festival's homepage, select Cooper Street, and type in your e-mail. A message will be sent to that e-mail, all you have to do is open and click the link inside and your vote is cast.

If you're still reading, we're a team from Georgetown that does long-form, based mostly on the teachings of the iO Theatre and Del Close. We're slowly branching out off-campus and will hopefully be performing in Austin and Houston early this spring. I feel like our work deserves to go to Chicago, but we are up against schools like NYU and Illinois State. Our student population is the size of one of their lecture halls. We would really appreciate any and all support we could get from our friends in the Austin community. Let's get another team from Texas in the Nationals! Come on guys!

Feel free to re-post the link, e-mail your friends, get some people in the know on this because VOTING ENDS on DECEMBER 14th.

The LINK.

If anyone else could post the link for me, that would be great. I can't post URL's just yet, as a way to block SPAM on this website.

I've met Zac and Cooper Street a few times now, and they're top-notch and friendly. Hopefully they'll be in some Hideout shows in January or February and you'll all get to meet them.

Cooper Street is badass and totally deserving of your time and votes. They had a great show at the College Improv Tournament, and they tied for first in my mind. Help 'em out!
