Rich Talarico Sketch Prov Workshop -- SOLD OUT!

Post by Jastroch »

EDIT: Workshop is sold out, but more informaiton on the show is coming tonight or tomorrow!

Ladies and Gents,

ColdTowne Theater is flying in Rich Talarico for a two-day intensive sketchprov workshop, which will culminate in a show early on New Year's Eve opening for the Dave Buckman directed Eye for an iPhone (which Rich will be appearing in).

If you are interested in doing sketch but don't know where to start, this is the place to be. PS I've already snagged one of the spots :>

Sketch-PROV with Rich Talarico

A pottery class was split into two groups. The teacher asked the first group to create as many pots as they could in the time allowed. The teacher asked the second group to create a single perfect pot. In the end, the group that focused on quantity had the best quality pots, while the group who focused on quality were left with an inferior product.

This class is going to do just that. Except instead of pots, students will be writing sketches. And instead of a kiln and a potter’s wheel, students will be using improv as a writer’s tool. And instead of a pottery instructor, you’ll be working with Rich Talarico (Dasariski, Second City, MadTV, SNL). See?

This intensive two day program will culminate in a class performance directed by Rich at the United States Art Authority on New Year’s Eve, opening for the ColdTowne Theater Mainstage Sketch revue (featuring Rich Talarico) Eye for an iPhone. Students will need to be available for writing, rehearsal and performance. Class size is limited to 10 people.

Sketch writer/ performers are encouraged to submit for this class.

When
Wednesday, December 30th, 2-5pm at ColdTowne Theater
Thursday, December 31st, 2-5pm at the USAA
Performance at 7pm at the USAA

Payment/Registration
Registration is limited to 10 students. Cash, check or paypal (paypal@coldtownetheater.com) must be received to register. $50

I took one of Rich's improv workshops at Out of Bounds this year and really enjoyed it. I know sketchprov is a BIT different, but he's really clever and had a very keen eye above all else. I'm sure this would be money well spent for anyone interested.
