Tuesday Night Jam on hiatus

Post by Roy Janik »

Announcement Time!

The Tuesday Night Jam is taking a break until February.

I've resisted doing anything drastic with the Jam for a long time, because it's where many people I know and love got their start, but I want people interested in improv to feel supported and excited about improv after having gone to a Jam, and in order to guarantee that, it needs something of a reset.

So the Tuesday Night Jam will be taking a break until February, at which point it will return with a retooled mission and purpose. I'll be contacting some of you about that soon, actually.

Keep an eye on this thread for news about the new direction, and the announcement of the Jam's return.

I hope no one is upset. I think this is a great idea.

When the jam was started, the idea was that there were a mix of folks looking for more play time. There was always a time set aside in the beginning to set the goals for the night based on what people wanted to work on & play with. It was always more fun and productive when there were people there with more experience to help guide the players and keep the space "safe" for play. Bravo!

Roy, how will people not on these boards know of its postponement?
There should at least be a sign on the door for people who show up anyway, which will almost certainly happen.

Yes, I'll be putting signs up.
