Good show tonight. I'm looking forward to watching that whole submarine sequence again. That was maybe the most dramatically compelling and suspenseful action scene of the series.

(Heads-up: apparently there are a few leaked pages of the finale floating around the web. Be careful, if you wish to avoid spoilers.)

Odds that they're red herrings leaked intentionally?

Hey Brad/Pat --
Regarding the
LOST pub quiz, do we need to register our team(s) ahead of time, or do we just check in at the event?

To me, Jack used to be the douche who got in Locke's way all the time, and was a sucker enough to fall for Kate. Now I think he's awesome.

No need to register ahead of time, but seating is first come, first serve. I would stress the importance of getting there early to make sure you get a good table. At many of these events, seating is hard to come by. For the Seinfeld quiz at the Highball, I had a team get there 90 minutes early and we got the very last table available. I think more seating will be available given this venue/time of day, but don't expect to show up a mere 30 minutes early and be happy.

Damon and Carlton do a little fessing up here, in the wake of The Candidate (spoilery only if you haven't seen The Candidate):
http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/05/04/lost- ... candidate/
Yeah, after last night, I don't need any further convincing that The Man in Black is the bad guy.
So now we've got Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, Miles, Ben, Claire, and Desmond. Oh, and Alpert. Am I forgetting anybody? That makes nine. I was expecting we'd be down to 8 main good guys by now, because they like to use The Numbers a lot in the series.
But wow, man. I wonder how our heroes can defeat somebody as powerful as the Smoke Monster. They're going to have to end this once and for all, because Damon and Carlton have stated unequivocally that the story ends with the final episode. So either great evil leaves the Island and consumes the world, or the castaways and friends destroy Esau and save the day. There can't be a middle ground where somebody is just hired on to keep guarding the Island.
So, any ideas? How do they kill the Smoke Monster?

One random thought: OH CRAP I'VE BEEN SUCKERED INTO THIS GIANT THREAD
Wait, that wasn't it. One random thought: if the goal is to "defeat" Smokey, he doesn't necessarily have to be destroyed, just kept on the Island. The way this is seemingly done is by one of the Candidates taking on the Jacob role, whatever weird rituals that entails. So the "victory" might be Jack, Sawyer, or Hurley (the remaining names after Sayid, Kwon, and Locke are out) becoming the New Jacob.
Which raises the new question, which of the three do we want running the Island? Trick question, of course it's Hurley.

Ooh, one more question for Brad/Pat -- any rough estimate on how long the quiz will last? We don't want to be late for
the Alamo's finale-showing....

Go back to any pilot you can think of and you'll find a bunch of nervous actors just trying not to get fired.

Also I'm leaning towards "no" for the pub quiz, since we apparently need to get there way-early, and I'm worried about getting to the Alamo sufficiently early as well.
Peter mentions that Lauren Zinn expressed interest, so if no one else has dibs, maybe she can be my Consta--err, Candida--err, replacement.

last night, nearly all shots fired at him went straight through/no effect, but there was at least one that had a ricochet. Not really sure what brand of invincible he is...
