I enjoyed the epic romance story and getting to know Alpert better. But here's my beef: What if we'd learned the actual ramifications (like, precisely what's at stake) of letting Esau ( pure eviiiil... ) off the island? Then Esau busting the wine bottle open would be a much more powerful image. I really hope we're not supposed to just naturally know what it means to unleash pure evil into the world, because that could really mean a lot of different things.
Also, is anybody around here picking up on the idea that Esau wants to leave the island? I am. I've been paying attention, so I think Esau wants to leave the island.

I dunno. I mean, it's
possible, but has Esau ever said anything to that effect?

It is not your responsibility to know the answers, but it is your, and my, responsibility to know and to ask the right questions over and over. Until it becomes second nature.

I still hold that it's possible the man in black is not as evil as Jacob leads on.
This was the best episode of the season.

Yep - a little egyptian judgement of the dead ditty:
Teti will decide matters,
Will judge between two,
Teti will command one greater than he!
Re will purify Teti,
Re will guard Teti from all evil!
Though I could see the man in black as Teti and Re so.... He's just a man who's fed up with doing his job..... death and judgment.

I thought it was telling the way Jacob looked when Richard told him that the Man in Black said he was the Devil. He looked like he didn't expect it, but also didn't have a problem with it. Of course, I may be reading too much into it.

i assume if the Man in Black escapes, everyone across the world will turn into mindless, creepy and homicidal denizens of some penetrating spiritual decay that feeds on our natural fears and weaknesses...
...that's right. Glenn Beck fans.

Love x A Lot! My dream: They actually produce the show, knowing full well it'll be canceled early on (so they can fuck with the show all they want), and they actually get six or seven episodes broadcast before it's taken off the air. Then the DVD comes out with like 3 un-aired episodes.
IMPORTANT ASPECT OF MY DREAM: STRAUM USES HIS F***ING POWERS!
Jesus, a con man and a guy who can talk to the dead?! What a cop team!

I figure they could structure it a little like
Veronica Mars -- there's an A story where they take down a bad guy, a B-story that's more about the central-cast relationships, and then a C-story where James Ford gets a little bit closer to tracking down Anthony Cooper.

I play the accordion. In terms of thinking of it as a musical career, I think it's sort of like calling yourself an astronaut because you have a shiny suit.
