Did you guys miss out on this little tidbit?
I did miss out on it. I can still play, Asaf. Maybe I'll do Tom Waits anyway or Henry Kissinger or Janis Joplin or...

I suggest that Celebrity Jeopardy be played in the show to satisfy the needs of those wishing to do an impersonation (such as myself).

Sorry I am not going to make it tommorow night. I had an extremely long travel day today and am over commited for tommorow.

I just wanted to say that was a fun first Maestro for me. Sorry I couldn't make it to the party later. Even though I think maybe everyone was a bit too hesitant this week, I think it was still a good show overall.

Dude, I didn't realize it was your first. Great job!

Thanks. I had a blast.

I'm curious about how much introspection everyone else does after a show. I have to admit to going over the scenes I was in several times in my head later to see what I could've done differently. Seems like a pretty natural reaction when anyone is on stage.

Oh, and one of the guys in the audience said, "You were robbed" when I was voted off the stage. Even though I may not have have cared about the points, that was certainly a nice compliment.

Just about everybody does some amount of introspection. It's the norm. Those post-show moments of brilliance are a way to confirm that you have the goods to make the right choices for scenes and remind you of the pitfalls in improv: gagging for the joke moment that distracts from the scene, going blue or into "kill" mode, thinking too much, etc...

The more comfortable you get taking care of what's on stage happening right now, the easier it is to naviagate past the weaker choices that you might make in any given moment. I'm, like, 75% comfortable on stage. WhenI atarted I was at, like, 25%. Still waiting to get to Shana's 99.99%.

How does it feel to be a crucified duck?

I thought I was going to be an apple tree. When I heard I was a crucified duck, I thought I'd go absolutely quackers.

Sorry.

I remember my first crucified duck scene like it was yesterday. It was in Shanghai in '79 where I had run to in order to escape being drafted into the long/shortform wars. I met a girl who did a top-notch Kabuki parody and was asking for suggestions. The only one I could give was to sweep her into my arms and give her a forceful Noir kiss before the bell would go off to force a new choice.

Besides being Maestro, the second best feeling in Maestro is hearing stuff like that.

I actually think I enjoy that more than getting the Canadian $5.

You work your life away and what do they give?
