Been stuck on Charles Mingus (again, again) for a few days/weeks now, and have been pouring over all I can find of his 1964 European tour. This was arguably the end of Mingus' peak (1959-1964), right before Eric Dolphy left (and died shortly thereafter). Though there's not much in the way of Mingus outside his studio and official live albums*, lots of shows from this tour were broadcast and subsequently taped, on both European radio and television, so lots of documentation still exists. Here's some (much of this video is on a current DVD -- worth it!)
"Meditations on Integration" in Belgium:

"Take the 'A' Train" in Oslo:

"So Long, Eric" in Belgium:

*the only other notable stuff that survives is an amazing set of tapes a guy made off the radio when Mingus was being broadcast from Birdland in 1961/62. quality isn't so hot (AM radio --> reel-to-reel tapes --> acetates --> cd-rs) but the performances are insane.
