Dr. Chang: Your friend Faraday said that you're from the future. I need to know if he was telling the truth.
Hurley: Dude, that's ridiculous.
Dr. Chang: What year were you born? What year?
Hurley: Uh... 19... 31.
Dr. Chang: You're 46?
Hurley: Yeah... Yes I am.
Dr. Chang: So you fought in the Korean War?
Hurley: ... There's... no such thing.
Dr. Chang: Who's the President of the United States?
Hurley: All right, dude, we're from the future. I'm sorry.
This doesn't have anything to do with the most recent discussion here, but I just love that dialogue a whole lot.

Jeff...you are right. Thanks, Bryan!
What I meant is that the man in black (Jacob's nemesis) is the alive (fake) Locke. Dead Locke is the real
Locke.
So, I thought maybe Jacob might be hiding in Christian's form...but that doesn't make as much sense as
Bryan's idea that Jacob's nemesis is using the forms of multiple people.

Yeah, Chris, I've suspected for a while that Jacob's nemesis (I think his name is Esau? Jacob and Esau were twin brothers in the Bible) takes on many forms in LOST, including Christian, Walt, Mr. Eko's brother, Ben's daughter, and Charlie.

In your mind, was Jacob helping save Sayid's life when he asked for directions from him
or was he helping to have Sayid's wife be run over so that Sayid would go back to the island?
(or both...but I don't like that as a response really...)
I think he was helping Sayid's wife get run over so that Sayid would have nothing left to lose, and thereby have the start of a motivation to return to the island. Sayid is a badass, and if he wasn't distracted, he surely would have saved his wife from getting hit by a car.

So, does that make Jacob "bad?"

That he allowed Nadia to die? Maybe Jacob is bad. I'm not sure we've seen a lot of evidence that he's good. He's got a pleasant manner about him, and he offered Esau some of his fish. But maybe he's bad. I think the writers want us to not know who the good guys and bad guys are.

My least favorite words are, "I had the most amazing dream last night." Because what's coming next could only interest the one who had it.

Your manuscript is both good and original, but the part that is good is not original and the part that is original is not good.
