I saw Thee Oh Sees at Beauty Bar. Fine show.

I think my favorite music at sotheby's southwest this year was a couple of Danish bands I saw play on the east side, Oh Land and The 18th Dye.

I remember liking an 18th Dye album like 12 years ago, and I talked with a band member after the show and he told me they'd been broken up for ten years, and were only recently back together. Good for me on that afternoon!

I just posted almost 10,000 of my Lala licensed and supported songs to my Lala account. I think anyone can listen, but you might be able to only hear the tracks once. Some random tracks got misidentified, but most of it is right. This is a pretty cool service.

nice! I haven't posted in a long time - when I get a free moment I'll post a couple things I've been spinning recently. Also just ordered a whole slew more used CDs so hopefully there'll be some good ones in there, too.

Right this minute...listening to Billie Holiday.

I've been listening to the new Decemberists album, which probably isn't much of a surprise.

I am delighted that the album came out just after PGraph's GRIMM run, as the whole album plays out like a Grimm's fairy tale, and I'm able to enjoy it on so many levels now.

Heard these guys at Maggie Maye's during this year's SXSW. Great band that puts on a great show. Beautiful strings in their music. Electric cello and violin? Yes, thank you.

Also, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes. Hey, here's a video of them during SXSW too! And I was standing next to Nick Ramirez as I watched them.

Seriously, they were one of the most fun bands I've seen in a while.

The various folks from All Songs Considered were raving about Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros (and how they didn't spell their name right). I'm sad I missed them.

I've been listening to Swan Lake - Enemy Mine a lot. It sounds way more cohesive than Beast Moans.
