I know a lot of people didn't get in this week, but last week we were begging people to play. So please don't take it personally and please sign up again next week or sometime soon.

I will be there and can help out however needed.

So I offered to take over wrangling Maestro while Andy was away working on Shakespeare. I have enjoyed it quite a bit. But I'm still kind of learning things. This week is the first that I've had to deal with more people wanting to play than we had room. Although the final word about the cast comes from the director for the week, I am also busy trying to make things flow easily. Let me just say that if you are upset about anything in the casting/posting this week- it is most likely my fault. And I am sorry if I have messed anyone up. From now on Andy and I will be working together to make Maestro happen - how will that work? I don't know yet - we'll be figuring it out as we go along. But let me assure you that as difficulties arise and inevitable mistakes are made nothing here is personal or intended to be mean to anyone.

Seriously? Seriously.

Everyone's tired and cranky. Some weeks Micetro is really popular and we have to say no to some improvisers. This is a good thing.

If/when it happens, don't take offense. It's much better to know ahead of time that you weren't cast, rather than show up for the show, warm up, and *then* get bumped. Hopefully we'll never have a system like that in place again.

By the way, Jessica, I think you've been doing a great job with getting Maestro up and running each week so far.

Also, remember that Micetro is for the audience. A well balanced cast of newer and more veteran players, as well as even a mix as possible of men and women, sets the foundation for a good show to flourish. That may mean that first come isn't always first serve. And we like new people - yay, new people!

The original spelling was "Micetro", because Keith Johnstone once made an off-hand comment about the players being likened to mice being led through a maze by the director, and maybe we could even put pictures of mice on the score board.

It was originally played in Austin as "Micetro", but Andy (understandably) got tired of having to answer phone calls about "Mike..Mick...Miz...tro?" No one could say it who hadn't seen the show already, so the more common "Maestro" was adopted.

I sometimes use "micetro" on the forum just to screw with people.

I can help out at the box office or take tickets...unless that means that I can't see Maestro because I'll be outside the theatre. With Tom Booker as director, you know I've got to see the action!
