Whatever happened to Dean? I really appreciated the way he ran his campaign. He was reforming campaign finance while campaigning.

Back in 2004, Dean was my favorite candidate. I liked his energy, his "new Democrat" image and ideals, his focus on health care reform and campaign finance reform. He's still one of my fav Democrats. I just don't think he's going to run since he's busy being the head of the DNC. Sucks.

As for how I feel about Hillary Clinton, I wouldn't ever vote for her, either. Unfortunately, at this point in time (around 4pm July 10, 2007), my reasons for not wanting to vote for her look lame in writing (such as this here, which is writing) because I haven't been taking notes. But I've been watching her in debates, and while I watch her, the most consistent thing I think about what she says is, "Wow, I fuckin' disagree. And she creeps me out." I'll start taking notes so I can look more legit about my opinions in forums like this one.

The people in recent debates with whom I agree the most often are Dennis Kucinich, Mike Gravel, and Ron Paul.

So far, that's 4-0 for potential Gore voters on this thread. That's very interesting to me. It's especially interesting because in this (real effed-up) world we're currently experiencing, our (real effed-up) major media news is touting Hillary Clinton as a (%#^&&!!) front-runner, but I haven't met anybody yet who's interested in voting for her. I deeply resent the newspapers and news stations for their corporate-whore biases, but that's a whle other story that I'm sure a lot of you here have a lot to say about as well.

But about Al Gore, here's why I think it would be super if he ran for Prez:
1. It would be a really ballsy move to run against his ex-boss's wife. I mean, it would be a REALLY ballsy move, I think, and (sorry I keep saying "ballsy", but...) actual ballsy moves (that aren't brazenly evil or something) are increasingly few and far between in the upper echelons of the modern political arena.

2. He'd have a hilarious aspect of his platform, being that he's ALREADY WON (the popular vote) before. "Hey, just vote for me again, and we'll keep the Florida courts out of it this time." Or something.

3. Not only do I feel bad for that dorky old lug for getting cheated out of a Presidential win before, but I definitely like him better than Giuiliani or Clinton or Obama (sorry, Arthur, I'll expand on this a little later) or Edwards or any of the alleged front-runners of late.

I don't think it's too late for Gore to throw his hat in the ring. This November might be too late, but not before then. I think he's thinking about it. I want him to run.

the only thing that I am really passionate about in this election is that we don't have another white guy. I don't care if it is Clinton, I don't care if it is Obama, I'll even vote for someone else. I just think that the white male perspective has been over represented and I want to have another perspective in the white house, finally.

That said, I love the idea of a different perspective. I'd vote for a woman in a heartbeat - I'm just not too crazy about Hilary. I would've seriously considered Colin Powell if he'd made a run, but Al Sharpton?!!! Brother has a screw loose.

Women and minorities will get their shot. Maybe even this election - but let's not eliminate the rest of the field for lacking ovaries or melanin. Let's eliminate them because of their wardrobes and hairstyles. Are you with me?!!!

With my tongue pointing neatly parallel to my cheek, I say that the Reverend Al Sharpton is the funniest Presidential candidate of my lifetime so far. I'm for funny-ness in general in my life, so I would never flinch at voting for Sharpton.

I'm definitely on the Obama train, but would support Gore in an instant.

I had super respect for him in 2000, but was constantly frustrated by his inability to deal with the media noise machine. He's smart, he's decent, he's funny, he's passionate, but it always seemed he was afraid to be himself when in front of the camera.

If there's any undeclared candidate who could enter the race now and generate "he's the one!" buzz, it's Gore. Otherwise, there's a huge money hill to climb. Huge.

Unfortunately, I don't think he will.

I agree with you, totally, Arthur. A few months ago I purchased a video magazine (ie. a DVD) that included an unfinished documentary that Al Gore had asked Spike Jonze to work on for his campaign. If this had been aired on national television in the months leading up to the vote, I swear this would have swayed a few people who saw him as an awkward robot. Oh yeah? How about this: I'll vote for anybody named Mike. Most common name in American for ages and we've never had a Mike as President or VP.

We've had the likes of Millard, Zachary, Elbridge, Aaron, Franklin, Hannibal, Ulysses, Schuyler, Rutherford, Chester, Grover, Levi, Adlai, Garret, Theodore, Woodrow, Warren, Calvin, Herbert, Alben, Dwight, Lyndon, Hubert, Spiro, Gerald, Nelson, Walter and Dick......but no Mikes. What gives?

no. he just made a lot of waves by removing himself from any affiliation with the republican party. if he entered though, the final race would get really interesting (i think he'd pull equally from dem and rep).

i don't know much about bloomberg, but he strikes me as opportunistic (with all the party changing over the course of his career). i love obama with big loopy stars, and am behind him for prez, barring some ridiculous fuck up. i saw a bumper sticker that said "obama/giuliani" recently, and i think this actually might be a great idea.

i'm not voting for hillary on account of her creepy inability to think about shit, develop a plan independently and relate. i think her husband was super badass, but she's strikes me as out of touch. like joe lieberman, except she's trying harder. i definitely want to see a woman president in my lifetime, but hillary isn't going to get my vote. i'd vote for madeline albright though, if they relaxed the natural born citizen thing.
