Dug. Looking forward to the 24th.
Marc, I wish to personally thank you-- albeit, over the internet-- for hunkering down and committing to Lost. There was a time when I thought that might never happen. Welcome aboard.

very spoilery for ep. 408

I watched Meet Kevin Johnson again last night, and I realized something that should have been obvious enough already: Ben is freakin' evil. He is NOT one of the good guys. He is one of the baddest, evilist bad guys in the history of television. No, he's the most evil bad guy in the history of television.

He's such a good liar that he had me duped for a while, as I thought that his cunning, lying, manipulative murderous ways might, maybe, possibly be for a good cause, or for protecting self interests that were somehow no worse or better than that of the castaways. But no. Evil, evil.

Bad segue followed by a comma, I'd like for the next episode to be an Alex origin story. It would answer some questions about the history of the island to watch her grow up on it, and we would get to see what it means exactly when they keep saying that Ben is Alex's father. Is he really her biological father?

I caught up on lost two weeks ago, but I just caught up on these forums today. Talk about flashbacks. I think the four seasons and the 22 forum pages took about the same time.

I like all the theories and ranting. Can't wait to experience it in real time w/ you guys now.

[SPOILER ALERT... because I think Cody wanted me to preface this with a spoiler alert. If he means the image is a spoiler... well... come on, it's a foot. A spoiler would be like, saying what's the deal with the foot. Haven't readers of this thread seen the foot? Maybe I'm off base. But anyway, SPOILER ALERT]

This is a bulletin so all o' yous guys know what the kinda weird remaining schedule is for season 4:

The new episode airs April 24.
Then there's an episode the following week, May 1.
Then May 8.
Then a to-be-continued first-hour-of-the-season-finale on May 15.
Then I'm going to see Radiohead in Dallas that Sunday.

Then there is NO LOST on May 22!

Then the rest of the 3 HOUR SEASON FINALE is on May 29.

Around this time, Chris Allen is buying me a milkshake, then a couple months later The Dark Knight finally comes out, and then about 6 months of boredom and malaise until Lost season 5.

THEORY ALERT!

The foot has four toes. Isn't there talk about how humans are going to evolve out of having a pinky toe? If so, could be that the natives of LOST are from the future OR are already way evolved than we are. And by "we" I mean everybody except Cody and me...so what I meant to say was "you."

My milkshake is dreamy...

Lost season finale

from tv guide...

It's Official: Lost Finds Extra Hour... But There's a Twist!

I can now confirm what I first teased earlier this week: Team Darlton has sealed a deal with ABC to bring us an extra hour of Lost this season.

But there's a twist.

Lost isn't the only ABC hit experiencing an unexpected growth spurt. Sources confirm to me exclusively that Grey's Anatomy will also expand its season by an hour — and it has Lost to thank!

Allow me to explain. With a 14th hour of Lost now a done deal, the show's finale will swell to three hours. But, in what can only be described as an unorthodox scheduling move, the first hour of that finale will air on May 15, and then we have to wait two weeks — until May 29 — to get the last two hours! That's right, no Lost on May 22.

Why?

Apparently, Darlton convinced ABC that the final two hours had to air together. And with the finales of Grey's and Ugly Betty already slated for May 22 at 8 and 9 pm, respectively, ABC really had no other choice than to sked Lost's two-hour exit for May 29. That, in turn, created a hole on May 22 at 10 pm — hence the net's decision to tack an extra hour onto the Grey's finale.

"We are very excited and grateful to [ABC president] Steve McPherson for working out the scheduling difficulties to allow us to make the second part of our finale two hours," says exec producer Carlton Cuse. "Damon and I were working on the script and we just couldn't get it all done in one hour without shortchanging the story. Now the finale will have all the sweep and emotional completeness we wanted it to have — along with, of course, answering who's in the coffin."

Still confused about how the new schedule will look? Let me break it down for you.

May 15
8 pm: Ugly Betty
9 pm: Grey's Anatomy
10 pm: Lost (Part 1 finale)

May 22
8 pm: Ugly Betty finale
9-11 pm: Two-hour Grey's Anatomy finale

May 29
8 pm: Lost encore (Part 1 finale)
9-11 pm: Two-hour Lost finale

All told, a pretty fraktacular turn of events. That is, unless you have a stake in the success of Swingtown. The controversial CBS drama was scheduled to debut on May 29 at 10 pm against little or no competition. Now it's up against the most anticipated 60 minutes of television all year.

D'oh.

I'm guessing you guys have an opinion on all this. Do you think the one-week preemption will slow Lost's momentum? And, if so, is that a small price to pay if the end result is an extra freakin' hour of Lost? Sound off below!

If the finale (the last two hours) is exceptional (as LOST finales are) then everything will be fine.

I'm just gonna pretend that the three hour finale isn't split into two shows and that the last episode is the finale.

The Shape of Things to Come... mmm neat. Looking forward to seeing it. It's actually airing at this moment, but I'll watch it tomorrow night.
