I heartily second that emotion. It was by far the best Maestro I have ever witnessed.

And Aden and I would not have been able to do the directing we did, if it weren't for the energy coming off of the cast. It fed a lot of the ideas we came up with on the fly.

Such a warm and fuzzy feeling after this Maestro. I can't wait for next week!

One of the funnest Maestros I've been in! It seemed like everybody was ready to roll with whatever came their way.

More! More!

And a big thank you to Bobby, Sara, and Maggie for helping out behind the scenes!

Much agreed. This Maestro was a lot of fun to watch! I laughed repeatedly in the booth. Great cast work, great directing work, great music, hot crowd!

One suggestion about Maestro cast postings:

Is it possible to try and have the cast list up by Thursday? The last few weeks it seems be up on Friday, which is fine, but only gives the cast a day to get the word out about being on the show. (And in turn some audience who may come to see certain improvisors may have already made their weekend plans.) For a Maestro such as this week, it would have sucked for anyone to have missed it.

I understand this is really hard sometimes due to sign-ups, making sure we have cast, crew, directors, people being generally busy with day to day lives, etc. I also know the show regualrly draws well on its own, but figured every little bit helps. Anyway, just a suggestion. :)

I think the trend has been to wait for directors before signing up to be cast. If you'd like to see a list up by Thursday, maybe starting a preemptive sign up thread would be a good solution. Then when directors are brought on board, there's already an eager group of players to choose from.

So I'm the one responsible for the smooth running of Maestro right now and it doesn't always work as smoothly as I'd like. For this week you'll see I posted and then went looking for directors. that made things take longer. We are supposed to have the cast list up on Thursday - but I had some calls out to a few people and the directors were waiting to hear on those before we put up the list.

By the way I do have the next 3 weeks covered as far as directors go so it should be a little easier.

Please understand in no ways was my post a complaint. Like I said I understand things get crazy when trying to produce a show (and I've been a part of producing some crazy ones) especially one w/ so many people and parts, not to mention having a life outside the shows so anyone who takes on the task is beyond cool for doing it. I also know that it's never always going to go clockwork either.

I just wanted to see if there were ways we can get more people out to see some of the amazing shows...and that was just something that came to mind.

I think all of you are awesome, as is this system, and I appreciate very much how welcoming you all have been to me since I moved down here.

I've always been a fan of the system CJ described in the "good old days." It's a lot more complex than having a weekly sign-up, but it has tremendous potential for benefits and schedule stability. The only catch is getting people to commit to their schedules.
