While we're on the topic of things to do... I think the tech booth upstairs could be cleaned out/reorganized. There's a TV in there that I haven't seen used in a while and maybe we could find a way to get a more efficient desktop now that ones we would need for shows are cheaper than ever.

One other thing I can think of... the dry erase board in the upstairs greenroom is in need of replacement or some type of insane cleaning. I know Roy's tried several different methods of cleaning things like "Happy O-Zone Day (again)" message, but they haven't worked. I tried everything from whiteboard spray cleaner to used dryer sheets to aerosol-based deodorant and nothing has worked.

Mike Kinald swears he can caulk it, so I'm gonna beg him to take a crack at that and see what happens. Sorry it's taken so long to get around to, but dealing with toilets is maybe one of my least favorite things of all time.
I caulked the tank tonight. The water reservior tank was cracked in 2 places that I could see. Hopefuly the patch job will hold. I'd let the caulk dry for about a week, then try to fill the tank on Friday. I'm also on the lookout for a replacement toilet from a few recovery shops. If the patch doesn't hold I can always replace the toilet.

Hmm. I like this idea. What exactly would building a flat entail? Would we hang them from the ceiling?

-Andy
you could do it a number of ways as long as they touch the floor. i would attach them to the floor and ceiling and make them semi-perm. they would still be very easy to remove with a drill. i am happy to help with this if you decide to go this route. PM me if you have other questions.

RE: toilet

In case the caulk doesn't hold up, a cheap replacement toilet could probably be found at the Austin Habitat for Humanity Re-Store. Along with a metric tonne of neat building supplies.

Something interesting: I have cleaned up whiteboards by going over dried on marker with marker. Does an amazing job.

Also, remember that you are gonna have a bunch of poets in the Hideout from Tuesday to Thursday at 7PM and 9PM, as well as doing workshops all week. The hideout seems to be heavily utilized both upstairs and down (including the greenroom/classroom). Here's the workshop/event schedule:

Is it ok if I just show up when I can that weekend. I love OoB and the Hideout and would like to help.

Unfortunately, I've tried this. I'm not sure what unholy material was used to leave those marks on the dry-erase board, but they're extremely difficult to take off.

I can only do Sunday, late shift. Earlier if GGG doesn't have rehearsal that night.

I have to work Sunday morning until 1 PM, then I'll head over the Hideout. I'll try to donate some time on Saturday to compensate.
