I've only really met one high up politician personally. We spent thanksgiving together. And he wasn't evil. His family wasn't evil. He genuinely wanted to work for the good of the state of CO. He may sometimes want to achieve it in ways that I don't necessarily agree with, but at his heart, I know he wanted to do good.

I think it's easier to stereotype an entire group of people when we don't know them personally. Also, it's easier to be cynical then to actually be involved.

That's the worst kind of evil: he knows what good is and does bad anyway. Or, perhaps more likely, he took advantage of your naive nature as he lied right to your face. Or, MOST likely, he's trying to program you over time so he can control you later with his mind.

Of course he's going to seem nice and caring... he's a politician... that's his job description.

As for not being involved, that's very presumptuous. I've volunteered on campaigns before and nearly went to law school for the sole purpose of going in to politics. I get involved BECAUSE I'm cynical. I thought I could make a bigger difference going in to comedy.

How do you know all this? You haven't even met the dude. I've spent Thanksgiving with his family for that last several years. You made huge assumptions on his character based on one word: "politician". I'd like to think then my sense of character of someone, is not that much worse then anyone else's. I've got my own dose of liberal intellectualism, cynism, and bitterness.

I didn't mean to say that you weren't involved specifically. I apologize if you thought that. The fact that you're even debating this with me means at least you're not apathetic about politics like a lot of people are. However, let's say you had gone on into politics. How would you like it if someone immediately dismissed who you are, and what you're about, because you're a "politician"?

You're not the only person in the world who when given the choice and the power, will choose to do good.

I really thought the mind control bit hit it over the head that I was joking. Classic heightening. Classic hilarity.

All kidding aside -- I'm positive that he's Satan's spawn.

I stamp out forever. Cold.
