Are you trying to marginalize my involvement with this community?
Nah, I think you've got that covered.

Once we upgrade the forum to the next version you'll be able to hide posts from individual people.
I'm not saying this has anything to do with this current thread
* wink wink *

Jesse, in all seriousness, this is a slap in the face,once again. I've spent a lot of time talking to you about this privately and publicly.
Don't underestimate the kindness of an entire community of wonderful people, disrespect them, and then demand respect in return.
This is muckraking bullshit. Period.

I'm gonna politely suggest that this conversation (between Shannon and Jesse) has a zero percent change of being productive.

Oh I agree, I'm done. Although I will politely suggest that this wasn't a conversation between me and him at all until he made it that way. I guess
I touched a nerve with
him earlier by pointing out that there had been NO ADVERSE effects from that old old flame war, which the attempt to tamp down any fallout was part of why the flame war existed in the first place. Why that point bothered Jesse so much I have no idea.

I seem to remember going back and deleting all my old posts on this thread when it dawned on me that I didn't need other people to validate my opinions. And that -- whether or not I was right -- in the end getting into flame wars made the world a worse place.

I have to admit I went back and re-read the whole thing, and Ratlif's deleted post became a HILARIOUS running gag to me. It was all made even funnier when people started quoting him, so that even when he tried to get rid of them, his posts still ended up being out there.
I love the forum and feel super lucky we have it. I also love -- do you remember?? -- when Emily Breedlove and Dav Wallace sang EVERY post from the "Best Show Lines" thread at an AIC Potluck??? Amazing. What year was that?? Thanks, Bob!!

my favorite part of Ratliff's deleted posts was that people's responses were still there, so you only got one side of the conversation...it was like Bob Newhart doing a routine with the world's most lovable misanthrope.
