half hearted defense of other city i used to live in. reminder to everyone that i used to live in that city. admission that Austin is still cooler than that city i used to live in.
Old improvisor who remembers when Austin was much cooler than it is now... Shock of how many troupes there are now... Reminder to all of them that they should never take for granted the amount of available stage time there is now... Excitement of how little negative energy there is between troupes compared to the past...
Chicken Fried Steak and all that...

Exasperation of newer improviser toward old hands who prattle on about how hard things were in the old days. Analogy to old hippies who won't let the Austin of the '70s die. Thinly-veiled jealousy at not having been around for when the improv scene was smaller and more exclusive.
The silver knives are flashing in the tired old cafe. A ghost climbs on the table in a bridal negligee. She says "My body is the life; my body is the way." I raise my arm against it all and I catch the bride's bouquet.

Completely unrelated and hopefully amusing remark aiming to ease tension. Unknown to readers the post flirted with punchlines about rape, AIDS, and former members of ColdTowne. All were deleted in favor of a quick reference to the Harold.
